With sustainability being at the heart of AM Eyewear, not only do we sell great sunglasses, optical frames and lenses, we also offer a variety of services not offered in most optical practices. This include:
REGLAZING
Your prescription may have changed, but your favourite frame doesn't have to. Unlike many optical practices, we'll fit new prescription lenses into your existing frames, no matter how old.

As an optical company first, every lens we fit comes with premium coatings as standard, not an add on.
It's a bit like wine. Two glasses can look the same, but you know one's better the moment you taste it. Lenses are no different. They might look alike in the frame, but you'll notice the quality every time you put your glasses on, from not wiping them down every five minutes to how clear and comfortable they feel all day.

If you have optical extras, you will be able to use your health fund for glasses or prescription sunglasses in-store. We accept all major Australian health funds, making it easy to claim your optical benefits on designer eyewear, premium prescription lenses and sunglasses.

No appointment is needed to browse or try on frames. If you'd like a styling session or an optical consultation, we recommend booking ahead so we can give you our full attention.
Yes. Select in-store pick up at checkout and we'll let you know as soon as your order is ready to collect from the Darlinghurst store.
Yes. Bring your frames and proof of purchase into the store and our team will help you exchange them, in line with our returns policy.
Yes. We offer complimentary adjustments on AM Eyewear frames so your glasses sit comfortably and correctly.
There is metered street parking on and around William Street, plus several public car parks a short walk from the store.
LENSES & PRESCRIPTIONS
Please contact the store for current eye test availability. If we can't test you in-store, we're happy to work from a recent prescription supplied by your optometrist.
Absolutely. Bring your current prescription with you (or email it through) and we'll take care of the rest.
We offer single vision, multifocal and reading lenses, with premium coatings included as standard. Polarised, tinted, photochromic and extra tough diamond coated options are also available.
Yes. Every AM Eyewear sunglass and optical frame can be fitted with prescription lenses in-store.
Yes. Our reglazing service fits new prescription lenses into your existing frames, whatever the brand and no matter how old.
REPAIRS & REFURBISHING
Yes. Bring your frames into the store and our team will assess them and talk you through the repair options and pricing.
We can replace hinges, screws, nose pads and temple tips on most frames, and re-weld both plastic and metal breakages.
Yes. We offer repolishing, refurbishing and re-plating, including teeth mark and scratch removal, to bring old frames back to life.
HEALTH FUND & OPTICAL BENEFITS
Yes. If your policy includes optical extras, you can use your health fund towards prescription glasses purchased in-store.
Prescription sunglasses are generally claimable under optical extras. Non-prescription sunglasses are not covered.
This depends on your fund and level of cover. We can check your available optical benefit in-store before you purchase.
Most funds reset optical benefits each calendar year, though limits vary. Our team can confirm your entitlement when you visit.
